The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Tuesday stayed a previous order mandating a re-examination for students affected by a power outage at exam centres in Indore and Ujjain during the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) held on May 4. The decision came from the Indore bench of the high court comprising Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Vinod Kumar Dwivedi, following an appeal filed by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The NTA had challenged a June 23 verdict by a single bench of the HC, which directed the re-conduct of the NEET exam for students impacted by the by power cuts, noting that they were placed at a disadvantage despite no fault of theirs. The division bench has now put that order on hold until it decides on the appeal. The next hearing is scheduled for July 10.
